I suppose i will use the term “animal companion” instead of “pet” in this post, mainly because I have come to a much deeper realization of what the animals who live with us bring to our lives.
We are all aware that our animal friends offer us unconditional love. This is because they are ego less. They simply love without judgment. They don’t have the walls and layers of “protection” around them that we humans have built up around our hearts. Animals do not take anything personally, they are happy to see us no matter what kind of mood we are in.
Animals have the ability to take our negative energy and transmute it into Pure Love because they do not have an ego. These amazing beings are invaluable to us.
I share an 11 year old chocolate lab with my ex. I realize now that Diesel does an amazing amount of energy transmuting; he has 2 households to take care of. He is about to come back over to my house today, and I am aware that I am in need of his energy transmuting powers. I have found November and December to be a little challenging in that I am letting go of yet more of my old beliefs and patterns with the intention of becoming very clear in who I am and how I am to move forward in life.
I am allowing my receptors of love to be open, and I am ready to be loved and healed by Diesel the lab. I’ll do my part; I will walk him, feed him, talk to him, bathe him and love him. I’ll do energy work on him when he allows it. (He is old for a lab, and suffers from bad hips and occasional seizures.) We will keep each other company and transmute energy together for a while, then I will send him back to his “dad’s.” I am grateful for my time with this loving animal who chose me as his “mom.”
I have attached a picture of my boy Diesel in his younger days celebrating (sleeping through?) new years eve.
